We All Want It
Yes. . . this is a picture of toilet seat covers. While I was visiting a public, um, facility, I had no choice but to stare at this seat cover dispenser mounted on the inside of the door.
Rest Assured
Just a creative play on words by the marketing department of these seat covers? Why did they pick these words?
It’s because we all want it. We all want rest. Assurance. Peace. It’s a universal need.
Our sin separates us from peace and reconciliation. We all need our sins covered by the righteousness of Jesus.
“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
-2 Corinthians 5: 18-21
Through the work of Christ, we can have peace and rest. Trusting in the payment Jesus gave for each of us, we can be brought into a relationship with our Father, forever healed of the biggest problem we have. Allowing each of us to. . . rest assured.
