TIMBER

“Mommy, can I ride in the front on the way home? I want to chat with Daddy about something important.” It was his birthday and it was an easy request. I gave Sam the passenger seat in the truck, and made myself comfortable in the back with Lorelai. After 20 minutes of driving into the dark countryside, a loud crash rocks the truck. Leaves and sticks flash across our vision followed by the sound of breaking glass. We all look behind us to see a large branch in the grass on the side of the road and glittering shattered glass from the side view mirror. When Tim pulled over to assess the damage, we discovered the side mirror and antenna were destroyed.

We praised God all the way home, thankful that this branch did not go through the windshield and hurt Sam.

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

- Deuteronomy 31:6

Much to our surprise, when we drove by the “branch” the next day, we discovered that the entire tree had fallen! What hit the truck was just the dead top of this tree! Praise HIS NAME!
